  2. Imprint, single-channel video and photographic series by Liz Magic Laser and Anna Ostoya, is an ongoing project that began in 2009, which documents the artists leaving blood-like imprints of their body parts—feet, ears, fingertips, etc.—in women’s dressing rooms of retail establishments throughout New York City, embedding their physical blueprint into these public spaces. Notions of artistic process, leisure pursuits and neurotic behaviors are merged to re-articulate consumer conduct. The video, current run time 27 minutes, composes a chronological series of actions by two faceless performers. Their gestures register against a backdrop of music and overheard conversations. Each resulting tableau is depicted in a photograph that points to the trace of an event. Selected photographs from Imprint series first presented in Soft Machines at The Pace Gallery, New York, 2011.
